Applying for a
Marriage License
If you are to be married in Bureau County, you must apply
for a marriage license in the County Clerk's office.

You must apply for the license at least one day ahead of your marriage
date. The license is valid for 60 days.

Both the bride and the groom need to appear in person at the
County Clerk's office.  We will need to see proof of age either
a driver's license for those 18 years and older or a birth
certificate for those under 18 years of age or for those born
outside of the United States. If you are 16 or 17 years of age,
both parents must sign a consent form before applying for the
marriage license.

The fee for a marriage license is $35.00 which includes a
certified copy of the license being issued when it is filed with us
after the marriage date.

You may get married at the Courthouse in front of a Circuit Judge.
You will need to set up an appointment with the Judge.
