Early Voting
Any registered voter may vote an early ballot. Early
voting begins January 11th in the County Clerk's
office located at 700 South Main St., Princeton, IL.
The County Clerk's office is open 8:00 am - 4:00 pm,
Monday - Friday. The Courthouse office will be open
for voting on Saturday, January 23rd from 8:00 am -
12:00 noon.
Another early voting site is at the City Hall in Spring
Valley beginning January 12th. The early vote site is
located in the City Hall at 215 N. Greenwood in
Spring Valley. The office in Spring Valley for voting will
be open from 9:00 am - 3:00pm, Monday - Friday.
The last day to vote early is Thursday, January 28th.
Absentee Voting
If a registered voter is going to be absent from the
County on Election Day or is unable to go to the polls
because of a disability, or is a temporarily absent
student away at college, he/she may apply for an
absentee ballot.
Please contact the county clerk's office to receive an
absentee ballot application and the absentee ballot.
The application for absentee ballot needs to be
completed before a ballot is sent in the mail. The last
day applications may be submitted for an absentee
ballot is Thursday, January 28th, 2010.
The General Primary Election for Bureau County will be held February 2,
2010. At this Election, Party Candidates will be nominated for election to
be placed on the ballot in November.
Voters will need to state the party ballot they would like to vote. We will
have party ballots for the Republican Party, the Democratic Party, and the
Green Party. Voters will be casting ballots for Federal, State and Local
Candidates including U.S. Senator, Congressman, Governor, Lt.
Governor, Attorney General, Secretary of State, Treasurer, Comptroller,
County Clerk, County Treasurer, County Sheriff, County Board Members,
and Precinct Committeemen.
Both Early Voting Sites will be closed
on Monday, January 18th in
observance of Martin Luther King, Jr.
Holiday.
